Weekend Ogham : Spindle / Oir (July 28th & 29th 2018)

Weekend Ogham Spindle July2018
Image from ‘The Green Man Tree Oracle”

“Destiny moves us to do great things.”

Destiny is not set in stone and those who are familiar with the concept of the “Web of Wyrd” know that one’s fate can be altered and that conscious co-creation of reality and one’s future can be achieved by taking one’s fate in one’s own hands (and working with the Norns).

“To understand the nature of our destiny, we can observe our life’s work and experience, our aims, gifts, and desires.”

Interestingly, this Ogham graphically resembles one of the ways to write the Rune Jera. It reminds us that the Wheel is always turning, nothing is ever set in stone (even if unpleasant circumstances always seem to last forever), and that it’s never too late to follow one’s dream(s). Your core, your heart is your compass throughout life.

Tomorrow we will be entering the Runic month of Thurisaz, which will require more focused energy from each of us. But once we answer our soul’s calling, synchronicities suddenly start happening and everything slowly starts falling into place…

Nine Worlds – Nine Chakras

Nine Chakras

I’m finalizing the ‘Nine Inner Worlds’ Guided Meditation & Chakra Activation, which is part of my Runic Healing Curriculum.
The downloadable pdf should be on my Etsy Shop some time next week. I will also be developing some Ritual Teas for each of the 9 Worlds to help with the (re)connection and enable magical & shamanic work.

On Finding & Adapting One’s Natural Rhythm

Sibyls_Rhythm
From ‘The Sibyls Oraculum’

Something that was started must be brought to completion, no matter the distractions, the obstacles and the setbacks on the path.

The key to reaching one’s goal without strain on the mindbody or spirit is to follow one’s own natural rhythm and adapt accordingly to the situation.

‘Natural rhythm is the ability to sustain the right momentum despite changes and pauses in the environment. ‘

Rune of the Week (July 23rd – July 29th Forecast)

Please keep in mind that the following is a general trend that may or may not apply to you personally

The Rune of the Week - Laguz

This week’s Rune is LAGUZ, whose divinatory meanings are all about intuition, dreams, fantasies, illusions & delusions, spirituality & emotions. LAGUZ is a water Runes, which complements the rather earthy URUZ.

This time we are going even deeper into the (self) healing process as LAGUZ is asking us to go to the places of discomfort and hurt, dealing with our repressed/suppressed emotions, sexual issues, and unfulfilled dreams.

Laguz

Be aware that unaddressed issues, even if kept buried deeply in a hidden corner or your mind & soul are still there nonetheless, weighing down on you. And they will re-emerge at the most inopportune of times when something will trigger them (it can be a word, a memory, a situation, even a person).

So why keep carrying unnecessary burdens that hinder our growth, wellbeing & happiness? Why keep invoking (even unknowingly) the dark fairy of ‘bad juju’ when all we want is to be able to find inner peace and move on with our lives?

The solution is simple: face your fears/inner demons and roll the dice! Change is at hand if you really want it. The wheel is always turning and new doorways, paths, people and/or opportunities will appear as long as you are willing to do the (healing) work.

Weekend Ogham : Fearn (July 21st & 22nd 2018)

Weekend Ogham Fearn - Alder

Fearn / the Alder has long been associated with divination and the gift of prophecy (it is also connected to Ravens). We are all born intuitive, and it is up to us to reawaken & strengthen this natural ability of ours.

As a water tree, it is connected to the Rune Laguz, which reinforces the idea of going inward and trusting the information shared within. The water element also has to do with emotions and healing.

This weekend Ogham is in the continuity of this week’s Rune, which was Ansuz – Rune of knowledge, communication & inspiration associated with Odin & his Ravens. And we are still in the Runic month of Uruz, which supports (self) healing. In case you missed it, you can read the blog post HERE.

Reality in a more than Human World

Mandragore Yannig Germain
Picture Credit: ‘Les Carnets Secrets de Merlin” by Yannig Germain

The belief in another reality involving non-human beings doesn’t stem from superstition or old wives tales (though myths and mythologies evolve over time) but from genuine shamanic experience.
The solution to the current environmental crisis can’t be only rooted in the physical: a spiritual reconnection needs to occur as well.

A magical vision is hidden in the Irish language – we need to rediscover it

The Irish language derives from a world in which the unseen is as real as the seen. Photograph: Istock

“…there are some truths about the language that need to be acknowledged, though the grammarians and language academics might not agree. 1 Irish derives from a world in which the unseen is as real as the seen; 2 it acknowledges the existence of other dimensions; 3 it is based on an understanding that nature and the land are vibrant, sentient beings; 4 at its most potent can be a language of incantation, meaning that it has (or might have) the potential to summon up wishes, behaviours, people and things…”
