Over the years, I have on more than one occasion successfully dealt with personal health issues based on my intuition: gut feelings, daydreams, shamanic journeys, lucid dreams or dream incubations. Sometimes even my cards or my Runes can give clues or confirm my own diagnosis.
It is important to be in tune with your body in the first place, in order to figure out what is ‘normal’ for you from what is ‘out of sync’. So many people live with chronic pain as part of their daily life and think it’s normal, when in fact the first signs of bodily pain should have been a wake-up call.
To me tackling an issue with a ‘mind-body-spirit’ approach is essential, because if one element is out of balance the other ones are likely to be out of balance too. When you’re in tune with your ‘selves’ you are able to notice any imbalance and address any issue very quickly because the root of the problem isn’t deeply embedded yet.
Sometimes all you need is simple adjustments in your daily life and/or in your diet – whether temporary or in the long run. If you have a cyclical pattern of repeating issues, you might consider applying these adjustments as proactive & preventatives measures. The more complex, chronic and/or deeply rooted the issue, the more drastic and painful the changes will be. But it doesn’t have to be so. And there are so many beneficial alternative healing modalities out there that you can learn for yourself (taking care of one’s health is an empowering thing) and apply at home.
Today, somebody of my own entourage needs my help. Being aware of the gut-brain connection is an asset with it comes to dealing with anxiety and depression. I suspect low stomach acid and gut dysbiosis (that intuitively popped up in my head this morning), which can easily be fixed with dietary adjustments: more acidic & fermented foods, supporting the liver, having a nutrient-dense diet (TCM gives some clues about specific beneficial foods) and avoiding sugar.
Keep in mind that your body is your temple, so it’s important to take care of it accordingly. Be well ;).
